ST. CUTHBERT'S.

In the annual report of St. -Cuthbert's Church, Berhampore, it is stated that the evening services were maintained all the year, being taken by the Rev. J. D. Jenkins and Jay-i'eaders. The attendance was small, but did not vary much either way. It is showing 1 signs of increasing, and it is thought that even under present arrangements an improvement in the attendance will be shown next year. The church is greatly indebted io an anonymous donor for £15 towards current expenses. It was very ,much appreciated by those' who are taking an active part ia church work in, the district, and is decidedly encouraging. A "Christmas tree" was organised in. November, which realised £7 16s 9d clear profit. For this handsome result Mrs. Hills and the Misses Hills, St. Agnes's Guild, the vestry, C.E.M.S., and the small band of energetic workers belonging to the churchroom are thanked. Owing to the General Election, .the vesfcry was enabled to obtain £4 19s by way of rent for the room. The room was used twice as a polling booth, and from the number of votes polled, ite inclusion, as- a booth is evidently warranted. The room is now used by the DeiVnce Department as a drill hall for the senior cadets — for which the vestry will receive £10 per annum. This is a welcome addition to the income, which ie (ac a .perusal of the balance-sheet will, show) not sufficient to meet current expenses. It is "gratifying to be able to report favourably on the Sunday School, which, owing to the good attendance, justifies the existence of the room in that part of the parochial district. The average attendance for last year was 52; the highest attendance being 87, and the Jowest 20 (this latter on a very wet day),
