LONDON, 22nd April. The Taranaki Oil Wells Company is issuing 275,000 £1 &hares. DEVELOPING ARGENTINE TRADE. LONDON, 22nd April. Houlder Brothers are purchasing two refrigerated steamers and thirteen general cargo boats. They are to be used in developing Argentine trade. NEW TRANSATLANTIC LINER. PARIS, 22nd April. The Compagme General Transatlantique steamer La France sailed from Havre for New York yesterday with 1265 passengere. The steamer is 700 feet long and has a speed of 22 knots. She is the largest and most elaborate vessel yet built in France. SUGAR PRODUCTION. LONDON, 22nd April. Herr F. 0. Licht, the well-known sugar expert, of Madgeburg, in the monthly circular, states that the production of beet sugar in Europe shows a decrease of 1,638,000 tons. He estimates that for the season there will be a total falling off of 1,796,000 tons. •
