A cyclone now centred to the westward ol Hokianga has brought heavy rain over the Nortb Island. Rain is also reported in the northern disfci'iettt of the South Island, and cloudy to overcast and gloomy skies are prevalent hi most parts elsewhere. Easterly gales are being experienced northwards of Kawhia. and East Cape, and moderate to strong easterly and northerly winds predominate at present elsewhere.
