MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
At the Magistrate's Court on Saturday, Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., presiding, several first olfenders on charges of insobriety were convicted and discharged. Kathleen Stanley was fined £3 and costs, or in default fourteen days' imprisonment, for a breach of a prohibition order. Lawrence Power was similarly dealt with for the same offence. On charges of drunkenness, Susan M'Laughlin and George M'Kay were fined 10s ami costs, oi* forty -eight hours' imprisonment. John Hamsay was fined 40s, with costs,, or hoven days' imprisonment for drunkenness, and a prohibition order was issued against him. For using obscene language Alexander Thomson was fined £3, or in delimitfourteen clays' impiisonment.
