Intending visitors to the Manawalu Racing Club'B Autumn Meeting, which commences on Wednesday, are notified that, excursion fares will be obtainable in connection with the New Plymouth mail train, which will stop at the Awapuni siding. Compass and Continuance, who won the Grand National Hurdle Race in 1909 and last August respectively, and Whakaweira, who was successful in the Great Northern Hurdles in 1911, are among the most' notable entrants 'for the Wanganui Steeplechase. St. Toney, Golden Loop, Coronetted, and Outlander are engaged in' the hack hurdle races, and the general entry is quite ■ satisfactory. In consideration of the big prizes to be won in connection with winter sport, however, it is strange that there should not be a greater number of horses schooled. Los Angelos is by no means harshly ■dealt Avith in the handicap for the Hawkes Bay Cup, and it is to be hoped he will be seen at the post. Miscount is nicely in, and will only^ need t6' jre*produco his spring- form in order' to give an excellent account of himself. Among the lightweights, Lady Moutoa, who made such a, bold bid for the Thompson - Handicap, reads attractively-
