AUCTION AND PROPERTY SALES

Messrs. J. EL Bethuno and Co. announce in our auction columns a property fiale to be held by them at their rooma at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday next. Under instructions from the liquidators, in order to wind up the bueinces of a ' company, they are submitting the equities of the. company in a number of investment properties. These consist of No. ' 28, Maarama-crescent. freehold land. 17 perches, long frontage., with dwelling of seven rooms thereon ; Maida Valeroad, Rosaneath, freehold laud- having, 122 f t.frontage, with three cottagee thereon, two of four rooms and one of ' five rooms, Liffey-street, Island Bay, freehold- land, with 11.6 perches with six-roomed dwelling thereon. At the same time the firm (in conjunction with Messrs. /Lcngmoro and Company) will sell a residential property in Pirie- ' street. ' This comprises freehold land, having a frontage of ,26£ ft, by a depth of 79£ ft, with the seven-ioomed residence known as "Leeds House," No. 81, thereon. ■ On Friday, 17th May nest, at 2.30 p.m., at their, rooms, under ■ instructions from the Registrar of tho Supreme Court, Messrs. Bethune aud Co., are submitting a residential property at Khandalhih. This is situated in Mac-kenzie-load, the land has an area of half an acre and ou it stands a six-room-ed residence. On Thursday next, at 2 p.m., at 156, Lambton-quay, in rooni6 above Evans's, they are holding a ealeof household furniture, the property of 'a gentleman who has sold his residence and removed his furnittne to ' the above rooms., .The furniture will be on view on Wednesday afternoon and morning cf sale. The firm insert an amended list 'of properties, which they have on their books for private sal &, also a number of houses to let, both furnished and unfurnished, offices, and store room accommodation. Messrs. Harcount and Co. advertise particulars of salee by public auction on 22nd, 26th, and 29th April, respectively, to be held at their rooms, 195, Lambtoiiquay. On Monday, at 2.30 p.m.,. by order of the mortgagee, and under conduct of the Registrar of ,the Supreme Court, a property known as No. 234, Wellington-teraee, will be offered. At 2 o'clock, oa the punises, "Llandudno," Marine Parade, Sealoun, they will sell the contents of a six-roomed house. On Tuesday, 23rd, at 2 o'clock, at the rooms, they will submit the whole of Mr. Walt P. Sanford's collection of eighty pasle-ls and oila. The pictures are now 'oti view, and a special gaslight display will be given this evening, from 7.30 till 9. Oa Wednesday next, commencing ul 10 o'clock, at the rooms, they will sell tho contents of a gentleman's residence^ removed for convenience. The catalogue comprises 360 lots. At 2.30 o'clock on the samo day they will offer nine pianos. On Friday and Monday, 26th and 29th April, at tho roomE, they will sell £1200 worth of jewellery. On Tuesday, 30th April, on the premises, No. 143, Tafimaustreet, they will sell the contents of a six-roomed -residence, including piano. A special list of properties is also advertised by the firm. Messrs. A. L. Wilson and Co. advertise details of sales they will conduct next week. On Wednesday they will hold their weekly sale of furniture in their rooms, and dispose of a roomful of furniture, on account of various peupla leaving th^ city. On Thursday they will hold a sale at the residence of Mr. F. L. Petersen, Adams- terrace, off AroEtreet, at 1.30, and included in the catalogue ib a Rosener piano. ' They will alto hold a. stile of five pianos at their rooms on Wednesday.

An enjoyable social evening was held by the members of the' Fire, Accident, and Marine Insurance oflico at the, Burlington Cafe on Thursday evening.
