The railway traffic to and from Auckland on the Main Trunk railway line is now nearly normal, and the number of people travelling doeo not justify the continued running of the second express to Wellington which was put on during the Easter holidays. The result k that after this evening it w2l ho dkeontinued. Last night the ordinary was a very small train, comprising seven passenger cars and a sleeper. The actual accommodation provided on this train was for 90 firet-class passengers and 170 second-class passengers j the number actually travelling by the train was 50 in the first-class section and 98 in the second-class, leaving 112 seats vacant. The second express, leaving an hour later, steamed out practically empty. The accommodation provided was for 45 first-class and 70 second-clasa passengers. Thoee availing themselves of the opportunity to travel by this- express totalled 50. The iivst. express to arrive from Wellington thia morning was fairly well filled, the number aboard being 250. The second express, however, was practically empty when it arrived, the passengers' numbering only 45.
