TRAGEDY IN A QUARRY.
TWO MEN BLOWN TO PIECES. By Telegraph.— Prese Association.— Copyright. ADELAIDE, 12th April. Two quarrymen, Byrnes and Fergneon, while engaged in blasting operations to-day, were using a steel bar instead of one of copper to 'remove a stone from a drillhole. The steel struck a spark from, the atone and ignited tile explosive charge that had already been placed in position. Both men were blown to pieces. WOOL SALES. SECOND SERIES OPENS FIRM. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 12th April. The eeeond series of colonial wool sales opened to-day, when 11,881 bales were offered. The selection of wool was very miscellaneous. There was a good attendance of buyers. The market opened firm, with no quot able change from the firwt series. Engliuh buyers aro operating freely in crossbred*. Continental buyers aro more interested in merinos.
