At 0 a.m. the following forecast was issued for the subsequent ' 24 hours: — Wlndß.— Easterly winds, moderate to strong, northward of East Cape and Kawbia, changing to southerly, and increasing after from 20 to 24 jjaura; northerly and westerly, veering to southerly, strong to gale, elsewhere. Barometer.— Fail everywhere, but probably rislnjg fast la the southern districts after about ten hours, and everywhere after 24 hours. Sea.— Heavy in Foveaux Strait; increasing on the west coast and oft the ea&t coast southward ot CnsUepolut after 16 hours, considerable at Bast Cape; moderate swell elsewhere. Tides.— Poor on all the western, coast; increasing after 24 hours; high in Foveaux Strait; moderate northward of East Cape; good elsawhere. Warning signals for southerly gales are exhibited at Capes Campbell, Farewell Spit, and Foulwlnd, and at Stephen Island, N Nugget Point, and Centre Island.
