The steamers Moeraki (Lytteltoa to Dunedln) Maunganui (Wellington to Sydney), Wimmera (Wellington to Napier), Victoria (Sydney to Auckland), should be within wireless range of Wellington this evening. THE PORT OF WESTPORT. The return* for the month of March in connection with the output of coal at Westport make interesting reading. During the period 78,783 tons of coal was mined, and of this amount all save about GOOO tons was exported. The total tonnage of vessels handled in the harbour amounted to 121,863 tons, LOADING OPERATIONS DELAYED. From various portE in, the 'Dominion come complaints aa to the inadequate supply of meat trucks. In Chrlstchurch the Athenic has been held up for this reason, and in Wellington the Indrabarah, of the Tyeer line, with 30,000 carcases to load, is kept waiting. The company from which the meat is coming has been advised that only six trucks are available for the shipment. It is complained by shippers that matters have reached that stage when the delay to vessels, the upsetting of sailing time-tables, and general inconvenience make it Intolerable. MATATUA AT LONDON. - Cabled advice received yesterday by the local agents of the Shaw-Savill Co. states that the Matatua, which left Wellington for ' London at 6.80 a.m. on the 25th February, arrived at the latter port on the morning of the 11th tost. Boveric passed east at 10.45 a.m. 'The vessel is bound from Calcutta, via Newcastle, to COronel, Cliili, on' the west coast of South America, with a cargo of coal. Coronel is a town of about 5000 inhabitants with large glass works and good anchorage in an open roadstead. MURITAI ARRIVES HOME. The local agents of the Tyser Line have been advised by cable that the Muritai, which left Wellington on the Ist March, arrived at London on Thursday last, after a passage of 40 day.* from port to port. The Union Steam Ship Company's liner Marama sailed for Vancouver at 2.80 o'clock this morning. By wireless the Victoria intimates that she expucte to arrive at Auckland at 4 a.m. on Monday from Sydney. She left the New South Wales port at 7 p.m. on the' 10th inst. The Mapourika left Nelson at 6.30 o'clock this morning, and should arrive here at 4.30 o'clock this evening. The Te Anau leaves Timaru to-night for Wellington direct, and is due here, on Sunday evening. Last night the Poherua left Greymouth at 8 o'clock for Wellington. She is due here to-morrow morning. Mr R. Crono, mate of the Kapuni, has signed off, and hiß place has been taken by Mr. C. Croucher. The Rosamond leaves New Plymouth this evening for Wellington direct, and is due here to-morrow evening. The Wanaka, due here on Monday next, brings 0000 packages of explosives ex the Kia Ora, now at Auckland. To-morrow afternoon the Taviuni is due from the Chathams. On Monday or Tuesday bhe sails again on the return trip. Captain Bone, marine superintendent for the New Zealand Shipping Company, was a passenger by the Mararoa from the South this morning. The Komata, Koonya, and Navua are all detained at Westport owing to the labour trouble at the mines. The Ripple 'replaces the Hhnitangi on the Patent Slip, and afterwards the Tutanekai will go up for overhaul. The Hhnitangi, which was expected to leave Wellington on Wednesday next for the Chatbam Islands, will not sail until Friday at noon. The Taviuni, which is due back at Lytteltoa to-morrow from the Chathams, is expected to Ball on the return' trip on Monday nest. It is expected that the Koonya and Komata, at present at Westport, will leave that port for Wellington, this evening. The Whangape should clear for Napier late this evening. , At 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon the Rosamond left Onehunga for Wellington via New Plymouth. She is due here late on Sunday night. Air. A. Watchlin, master of the Falcon, has signed off the vessel, and his place has been taken by Mr. C. Watcblin, formerly mate of the schooner. Mr. C. McPherson signed off as mate of the Canopus, and his place has been, taken by Mr. Fointon. The Nerehana Is due from Napier on Wednesday next for discharge of her London cargo. The Tyser liner Indrabarah, which arrived in port from Auckland last evening, is to sail for Wanganul roadstead on Tuesday or Wednesday next. The coastal steamer Defender leaves Lyttelton to-night for Wellington, and is due here on Monday afternoon. She sails the same day for Picton, Tarakohe, and Hokitika.
