K.nibb«, tho Commonwealth Statistician, gives interesting particular* of the movements of Australian-born people in their owt\ continent and of the number and denomination of people who have come here from other countries. New Zealanders will bo interested to learn that of the 2,313,035 males in Australia, 16,862 were born in Now Zealand, while of tlie % femalo population of 2,141,970 the Dominion has contributed 15,006. In Sydney, which had a .population of 629,603 at the time the <:ensua vt&B taken, 435,603 were natives of New South Wales, 26,120 luwl come over from Victoria. 11,608 from Queensland, 6031 from Tasmania, 4616 from South Australia, and 9218 from New Zealand.
