Forward lambs were in short supply and in good demand, and fetched 12b 6d to 13.3 6d for tho best sorts. Fair lamb 3 made 10c 6d to lls 6d ; others, 6s for culls, to Sh for ordinary stores. Fat Lambs — There was a slightly larger entry of fat lambs, ac compared with lust weok, the ligures being 7778, as agaiiibt 7503. Tho entry was an uneven one, which included a wide range of quality. There was, however, a good proportion of really well-finished lumbs, and exporters o]>erated freely ut times, at prices about on a pat with laefc week. There was a very hopeful tone in the market, and it is certain that tho price of the second trade and lighter stuff hardened at least d per head, and a higher estimate place-, it at 6d, which is probably a bit beyond the mark. The sale was a very in-and-out one, talcing it all through, opening well, then Blackening off badly, and brightening again at the close. Tho range of prices was: — Tegs, 17s 3d to 19s lid; ordinary freezers, 12s 6d to 18s; and graziers took other lines at prices from 10s 6d upwards. Fat Cattle— The yarding of fat cattle was a moderate one, totalling 185 head, as against. 2ll yarded last week. Tho offerings were of a medium quality, only a few better class beasts being noticed here and there. When the sale opened, the demand was very uneven, and a considerable number of passings wore made, but in spite of this the valuob showed little difference from those of tho previous sale. Beef ranged from 21s to 26s per 1001b, according' to quality ; steers .fetched £7 10s to £13 17s 6d ; heifers,, £5 10a to £9 10s 6d ; and .dry cows, £5, 5s to £10 10b. Vealerg — There was 'an average number of fat calves penned, and the demand was unchanged, r'angmg from 6s to £2 13s; extra, ,to' £3' 12s. Store Cattle— Only 24 head of store cattle were yarded, and tho demand was very weak indeed. Cows made £1 to £4 10s. - Dairy Cows — The entry of dairy cows was better, somo good useful sorts meeting with good competition. Prices ranged from £4 10& to £9 10s; extra to £11 15s. Pigs— There was only a small number of store pigs penned, no large ones being among the number. Tho sale was fairly keen, medium -sorts making 30t> to 365; smaller, 22s to 28» ; and very 'bmall, 14s to~ 17s. Weanors realised 12k 6d to 16s, mud were in somewhat bettor demand. The entry of fat pigs was below the -average, but- the, demand for all' classes was fair, bacoriors meeting with a little better enquiry. „ Choppers niado "£3 12s to £4 12s ; heavy baconers, 70s to 72s 6d ; extra to 85a ; and lighter sorts, 55s to 655, these values being equal to s£d to sgd por Ib.
