ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
At the inquest, held yesterday afternoon, on the body of a nineteen-months-old child named Emily Mary Jeffery, who was admitted to the Hospital suffering from severe scalds, the Coroner (Mr. W. G. Ridden, 5.M.), ( returned a. verdict that death was due to shock can»e€' by the scalds. While carrying some glaes in a frame ■ yesterday, a young man, Walter Weaver, fell, with the result that four of his fingers were severely cut. Ho was admitted to the Hospital. A serious accident occurred al the junction of Hill-street and Tinakoriroad last night. Miss Jones, daughter of Mr. Cecil Jones, . manager for the Huddart Parker Company, was crossing thet road, when she was knocked down by a bicycle ridden by a young man. She was picked up in' an unconscious condition and lemoved to the private hospital . in Davis-street, where Drs. Henry and Ewart attended her. She. has not yet reco.vered consciousness.
