TRAINING CAMPS.

Twenty-five more, training campe, I under the new defence scheme, have yet to be held before the end of May. Total, 1650." WELLINGTON ' RIFLES. The sth Regiment (Wellington Rifles) will go into camp at Trentham for their annual training on Saturday, 6th April, parading for the purpose at Lambton station at 8.30 a.m. They will return to Wellington on th& afternoon of the following Saturday. There will be present, under Major Turner, some thirty officers and about 750 men, together with fifteen Cadet officers, who will attend for instruction. The standing facilities at Trentham will, be used for cooking and other purposes, a surgeon and chaplain will be in camp during the whole of the time, and as complete arrangements as possible have been made for the comfort and well-being of the troops. _ An Officers' Committee has been set iip to arrange for i'egim«ntal sports, and an Amusement Committee will arrange for entertainments in the evening in the Regimental Institute, which will have its abode in^tho large mess room. The work of the camp will be of an instructional character, as most of the material is decidedly raw, and the iixture is being looked forward to with considerable interest. There will be a. Poet and Telegraph Office and a. telephone bureau on the ground.
