Considerable enthusiasm, was shown. Organising in Westland has now concluded, and the secretary (Mr. Paape) is thoroughly satisfied with the results of liis tour, strong branfSes having been formed in Westport, Reefton, Greymouth, Kiiinai'a, and Hokitika. Mr. M. Cable, traffic superintendent of the city tramways, took up the duties of his new position, to-day after three -weeks' heliday, spent chiefly in the South Island. The camp of Territorials at Takapau (Fin»fc and Second Battalions of the Ninth Regiment) broke up yesterday. The young men who were under canvas included residents of Eastbourne, the Hutt Valley, and the Wairarapa.
