WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALES
Messrs. Murray, Roberts, Dalgety, Levin, the United Farmers', Abraham and Williams, and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company held their fortnightly wool, skin, and hide salea yesterday. The attendance of buyers was. rather larger than usual, and competition was very keen, and there were very few withdrawals. Pricee were as under :•— Wool.— Crossbredj medium, 8d to BJd per lb; crossbred, heavy coarse, 6Jd to 7j{d: crossbred, seedy dingy, Gd to 6|d; lambs, bright, B£d to 93d; lamb's, dull, 7d to 7§d; lambs, seedy, Bid to 6jd; pieces and bellies. 4£d to 6jd ; locke, 3d to 4£d. Sheepskins.— Crossbred, fine, 7d to 7£dj crossbred, 6id to 7£d; crossbred, inf. pelt, s£d to 6d ; dead and damaged, 4d to s£d ; badly damaged, 2^d to 3£d ; lambs, 3id to 6£d ; lambe, short to halfwools, 3d to sd. Hides.— Ox, heavy, 7W to B£d; ox, medium, 7d to 7|d ; ox, light, 6d to 7^d ; cow, beat, 7d to 7£d j cow, medium^ 6|d to 6gd ; damaged, cut and slippy. 2£d to 6id; calf, good, 10£ dto 11^;- calf, medium, B£d to lOd ; calf, datoaged, 5Ad to Bjjd Tallow.— ln casks, 26s to 28s 6d per cwtj in tins, lQs to 22s per cwt.
