RUGBY REFEREES.
MEETING OF WELLINGTON' ASSOCIATION. ' . The annual meeting of the Wellington Rugby Referees' Association was hold last evening, Mr. D. M'Kenzie in th« chair. rhere was an attendance of twenty-two members. In moving the adoption of the report! (already published), Ttfr. M'Kenzie referred , to the present position of iibto association. He stated that it was not Ins intention to go into the matter u,t present, as members would; have an opportunity of thrashing the matter out at a subsequent meeting. The Wellington referees were ' working hard in the interest of football, and if the association was allowed to work out its own. destiny ho was quite sure players would be as proud of it a« they were at fch© present time. The election of officers resulted a* follow: President, Mr. S. S. Brown: vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Campbell and k* Cl . lOacn « > chairman, sir. D. MKenziej vice-chairman, Mr. A. E. Neilson; hon. secretary aad treasurer, Mr. L. Seiversj instruction committee, Messrs. W. J. Meredith, L. Simpson, and A. X Neilson ; classification committee, Messrs. J. Francis, H. K. Card, 'x nd J ' o> Connell; vioe-presideut to New Zealand Referees' Association. Mr. L. Simpson; hon. auditor, Mr. j. P, 0 Sullivan. Mr. D. M'Kenzie was appointed dele, gate to the annual conference of referees, to be held at Hastings during Easter. It was decided to hold the first meeting of the association on Monday, Ist. April. Messrs. Seivers, M'Kenzie, and Neilson were appointed to confer with the Rugby Union m connection with the union'? proposal re referees' Appointments.
