Two prospectors at Mudgee found a nugget containing 120 ounces of pure gold. SAD TRAGEDY. PERTH, 22nd March. A sad tragedy occurred here to-day. While a girl, Florizel Lamniing, wa» endeavouring- to extinguish the flames in the clothing of an elderly woman who had spilt some burning turpentine on herself, her own dress was ignited. The girl ran and hid in some bush, and then, paralysed with fear,»sat down with her hands over her head. She made no outcry, and wae not discovered till she was so badly burned that death soon came lo end her sufferings. Meanwhile the woman was saved by her husband.
