"Rona. I—About1 — About one-third of the male population of the three kingdoms are in possession, of the franchise. The right to vote in the election of a member of the British Parliament is confined to those male adult* whose names appear on the register of voters in force for some county or borough. No man can be registered who has within the twelve mouths preceding 15tii July received parochial assistance oilier than medical relief, or is an alien, uuleos natutaliscd. The qualifications in counties are freehold, copyhold, and leasehold, and in counties and boroughs occupation at owner or tenant, occupation by virtue of any office, service, or employment, and occupation as lodger of any lodgings of a clear yearly value, it let unfurnished, of £10. Houseltold suffrage in regard to boroughs waij introduced into' Parliamentary elections on 16th August, ISO 7. In the session of 1831-83 the principle was extended to countlos. "A.8."-The father Is liable.
