MUSICIANS' UNION.
COMING BEFORE CONCILIATION COUNCIL. Notice has been received by the Wellington Performing Musicians Union of its registration under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act. Much enthusiasm has been shown by musicians in the formation of the union, which now numbers some 80 membei*, embracing among others all the players at present employed iv the local theatres and picture houses. The following constitute the executive of the union : — President, Mr. IT. B. Oakes; vice-president, Mr. T. T. Joy; secretary, Mr. J. F. Woodward ; treasurer, Mr. H. Moschini ; trustees, Messrs,. A. Williams and F. Gardiner; committee. Messrs. A. P. Truda, 11. Cummins, C. Stoughton, and V. Yitetta. A meeting of the executive was held last night, when mention was made of the good feeling shown by the managements of tho King's, New, and Star theatres, all of which have agreed to the union's demands. It having been found impossible to arriv* at a satisfactory conclusion with other employers, the union has decided to refer the dispute to the Conciliation Council for settlement,
