THE IRVING SEASON. Mr. H. B. Irvine's seventh performance of Shakespeare% tragedy " Hamlet," attracted another large audience to the Opera House on Saturday night. On Tuesday night Mr. H. B. Irving and his company will produce "Louis XL", a drama adapted by Dion Boucicault from a play by Casimir Delavighe. Ih Louis XI. there is described a character of a monarch of Fiance, ambitious, cruel and unscrupulous. The play is full of incident, md turns upon Louis's meeting with the Due de Nemours, son of A man wtoom he had executed in circumstance* of revolting cruelty. The Duke came to the court of Louis incognito, seeking revenge upon a monarch who poured upon him as much hatred as he had heaped upon the father. ' OEGAN RECITAL. Oil Saturday evening, Mr. Maaghan Barnett, the City Organist, gave an organ recital at the Town Hall, the first of a sArifA fof the new ygaf, before an appreciative audience. Griiilmant's "Prayer and- Berceuse," a popular item, was well received, as was also "Barcardlle," by Offenbach. The pro* gramme also included a "Concert Fantasia on Old English Airs," "by Best, which contained sticn well-known melodies as "Down Among the >cad Men" (1705), "Come if You Dare" (Purcell), "Since First I Saw Your Face," "Come Unto These Yellow Sands," "There was a Jolly Miller," and "Hark ! The Lark." It is to be hoped that this very interesting number will be repeated. "Offertorie in F" (Wely), Channet's "Cloche due Soir," and a "Lied" by Hoffmann. The firsb concert' of the Municipal Or•chestfa ig announced fbr the «rid'6f the month. x THEATRE ROYAL. • The new programme at the Theatre Royal this evening includes several exceptionally fine natural colour moving pictures which have been secured by the management at considerable expense. The view's of everyday life in Cairo give an excellent idea of Oriental costumes and scene* in the streete and marts. Amongst the other calbured films' to be displayed are " The Bifikara and Sahara Deserts," "Watchdogs of the World," "Reedham Boys at Drill," and, "Lady Barclay's Necklace." In addition there will be! chovvri many black and. white" kine*" matograph dramatic, scenic, and humorous selections. "The Watchdogs ot the World , is a coloured representation of the Britieh fleet of 16*7 warships being reviewed at'Spithead. To-night the management will submit a photo-play attraction entitled " 'Twixt Love and Art." "Kit Carson's Wooing" and "A Qure for Crime" ehoUld Wso prove popular. NEW THEATRE. Continuous crowds were in evidence at The New Theatre, Manners-street, on Saturday, and everyone appeared to enjoy the splendid programme*. An entire change will be given td-morrbw. SHORTT'S THEATRE. Excellent attendances have been recorded at Shortt's Theatre, Willis-street. "Tho Tragedy of a Strike" is a film of 6peclal ihteresl. just how. Another attraction is entitled "Mr. Bfowh and the Burglar," an exceedingly interesting comedy sketch, Included in to-night's change of programme are :— *'A Ride for a Bride," " "Hi Better to HaVe Loved and Lost," "Daddy Boy and Mammy," and "The Miser's Heart." Th« latter picture has been shown before, but will, by special request, be screened to-night. STAR PICTURES. There Was a large attendance to witness the final production of last week's programme at the Star theatre, Newtowh, on Saturday night. There will be a complete change to-night, when tho mariagehiont will submit some special novelties, including "Nick Carter, Detective,' "Adventures of, Rob Roy," and Pathe's Animated Gazette. THE BIJOU THEATRE. ,- The large audience at the Bijou Theatre on Saturday had all worries occasioned by strikes quickly dispelled from its mind by the splendid new ,pro* gramme submitted. The main attraction was an adaptation of Charles Dickens'* well-known story, "Oliver Twifit." The filth appeared to please thefie present. A cowboy drama was "Red's Conquest.
