Advices have been reoeived that a German named Gerlach, who was taken' to Germany for trial on" a charge of murdering a man named Coleman,' at Dungog, New South Wales, in October, 1909, has been found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to two years' imprisonment. [The body of Frank Coleman, who at one time was a shopkeeper in Wanganui, was found tied in a sack in a waterhole at Dungog, Gerlach a.ad Coleman had' been camping together. At the inquest it was shown that the sum of £70 standing in Ccleman's. name had been withdrawn from the bank, and a £50 note which it was known he had in his possession was missing. The murder took place on the 25th October, 1909. Early m the morning shots were heard, also screams. Later it was found that the camp had been burned. Gerlach shipped on the steamer Apolda in ' Sydney as a fireman, and was arrested at Cairo and teken to Germany.']
