MOB FURY.
REBELS KILLED IN ECUADOR BRUTAL OUTRAGES IN QUITO. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. GUAYAQUIL, 9th January. Five revolutionary generals, including General Alfare, arrived at Quito on Sunday, and were immediately imprisoned. When the populace learned of their arrival a mob of five thousand attacked the guards, who fired a volley, killing several persons. The mob then tore down a portion of the walls of the gaol, dragged the generals from the cells, and killed them, along with other prisoners who had supported the revolutionaries. Tho bodies were dragged through the street to the San Diego Cemetery, where ihey were burnt. The fury of the populace was due to I the tremendous losses suffered by both I armies in the battle of Yaguach on 16th j January.
