CHINESE TERROR STRICKEN.
APPEAL TO JAPAN FOR PROTECTION. REIGN OF TERROR IN MUKDEN. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright, PEKIN, 30th. January. There have been thirty two bomb outrages in Mukden during the last five day*. A reign of terror prevails in the town, and revolutionary suspects' are being arrested nightly and executed. The last victims include the president of the Municipal Council and two respected members of the Progressive Society. ' The Chinese are terror-stricken, and are appealing to Japan for protection. The Japanese Legation at Pekin fears action will become necessary. A Japanese fleet has arrived at Port Arthur for the winter manoeuvres, but it is believed the real object is to I watch revolutionary cruisers and transports at Chefoo.
