THORNDON SWIMMING CARNIVAL.
Provided it is a_ fine afternoon, a large attendance ie anticipated at the Thorndou Swimming Club's Carnival, which is to be held at the Thorndon Baths on Saturday next. The committee has been untiring in its efforts in compiling an excellent programme, and in addition to v large number of races in which some of the noted champions will be competing, numerous comic items have been provided. The 440 yds Wellington Provincial Championship will -also be decided.
The Petoiie Borough Council, in our advertising columns, invites applications for the position of foremangastitter, with experience in meter repairing and general maintenance work. s Messrs. W. I'\ Shortt, .Ltd., advertise for private sale section, 67 x 170, on> Rongotai-\erraoe, Kilbirnie; also sections and cottages at Eastbourne. Tendors are invited by the Education" Department for the supply of grocerio, bread, meat, and boots to the Boy*' Training Farm at Weraroa.
