The Labour Conference has adopted a resolution in favour of the Government controlling the marketing and distribution of goods, fixing the price of the necessaries of life, paying employees on Government works for public holidays, fixing the hours of nurses and other employees at hospitals and asylums at fortyiour per week ; and that all future Government appointments, such as Railway Commissioner, be given to Australians, qualifications being equal.
