Two hundred pounds of stone produced gold to the value of £3200. A RUSH FAILS. SEEKERS SUFFERING HARDSHIPS. (Received January 29, 8.5 a.m.) OTTAWA, 28th January. The inspection of the Manitoba gold discovery shows that it is less valuable than was anticipated. Thousands rushed to the .field, and thej are now suffering great hardships owing to the lack of supplies. [Numerous nuggets of ' gold were reported .to have be<jn found in fowls fed on a farm near Manitoba. The whole population of a viMage stampeded to stake out claims.!
