The 'farmers of Oamaru who • still hold whea* are not anxious to soil, owing to the broken weather delaying the harvest and the consequent probability of better prices. A few lines of Tuscan and velvet have been sold, at 3s 6kl, less commission, and sales ex store havo been made of velvet at 5s 7d net, and a mixed line of velvet and Tuscan at 3s Bd, less commission. New oats have been sold at 2s lid net on trucks. The possibility of a market opening in Australia owing to tho partial failuro of the oat crop thero is giving growers more confidence Some samples of ryegrass seed have been submitted, but as yet no business has resulted.
