DORSET SOCIETY.
INAUGURAL DINNER. The first annual dinner of the New Zealand Society of Dorset Men Beyond the Seas was held in tho Burlington Cafo last evening, Mr. A. M. Smith presided, and among thono present were Lieut. -Colonel A." Humo, Messrs. J. t<\ Atkins, F. Williams, H.S. Moore, A. Hamilton T. Neave, E. Mace, E. Toms, and W. H. Bortgill. The toast of " Dorset, our Couniy," was proposed by Mr. A. Hamilton, who said he felt it a great honour to bo asked to propose this toast at the inaugural dinner of tiio society. Messrs. H. S. Mooro and E. Mace responded. The chairman proposed the toast of ".The Socioty of Dorset Men in London," and incidentally referred td the arduous work carried out by Mr. Atkins in' organising a body that could affiliato with the London society. Mr. Smith also mentioned' that Sir Fredk. Troves, tho eminent Surgeon, for two years president of the society in London, would shortly pay a visit to the Dominion.
