INQUEST AT THE MORGUE.

An inquest was held at the Morgue this afternoon by Mr. W. G. Riddel), S.M., concerning the death of William David James. Evidence as to the finding of the body was given by Llewellyn James, of Kelburno, a brother of deceased. He last saw deceased on Friday morning, and he was then in tho best of spirits. The general state of his health .during the last twelve months had, however, been very unsatisfactory. He had been suffering from insomnia very much, and his eyesight was somewhat affected. During 1910 he was at Porirua Mental Hospital for a "short time, pending the. finding of his relatives, who at once romoved him. Deceased was a man in fair circumstances, and had retired from business some twelve months ago. He was of oxceptionally cheerful temperament. There was no financial or family , worries', the only trouble he had in life arising out of the illness referred to. He left a wife and three children. Dr. David Lloyd Clay deposed that deceased had been dead three or four days. Death was duo to strangulation. James had been medically attended for religious delusions. Percy Cording stated in his evidence that he had last seen deceased on Saturday nigtu. A verdict was returned of death by banging while temporarily insane.
