[«T THUECmAPBt— SPECIAL TO THE POST.] CARTERTON, This Day. The well-known racehorse Prince Hassan, 'belonging to Mr. S. Bishop, of Clareville, aropped dead on Sunday last. The animal raced at the Taratahi-Carter-ton meeting on Boxing ( Day, running second in the Maungariki Hack Handicap. At that .meeting it sustained a kick from another animal, and it is, surmised that this may have had something to do with its sudden, end. , i The Coronation. Band Rotunda, which has been erected on Carrington Park, i« almost completed, only finishing touches being now necessary. A tennis match, Marfcinborough v. Tsrarua Tennis Club,' will be played at Cartertoft on Saturday next. The Tararua team will" be selected from Misses G. and D. Booth, G. Berrill, I. Cormack, It. Davison, Mesdames MacGowan and Davieon, •nd Messrs. Bunny (2), Maunsell, Roydhouse, Bowen, B. Booth, W. C. Dellur, B. Trapp, and, J. Steel. At the CarterWn Police Court yesterday, before Justices of the "Peace, William A. Her rick was convicted and fined 10b for, being drunk while in charge of a horse. An application iov a prohibition order was made against accused, but the bench adjourned the application for three months to give accused an opportunity to reform.
