FOHECAST. ' At 9 «.m. the following forecast irai isiued to* the subsequent 'ii hours:— Winds.— Moderate to strong and squally, easterly and south-easterly northwards of Fare- 1 well Spit and Kaikoura; moderate to strong and variable easterly and, northerly elsewhere. Barometer.— Fall southwards of Westport and Kaikoura; unsteady elsewhere with a temporary rising tendency in the northern districts. Sea.— Considerable between Castlepoint and Kaikoura and about East Cape; moderate swell northwards of Bast Cape and oa the West Coast of the South Island, and moderate elsewhere. Tides.— High northwards of East Cape; moderate north of Cape Egmont, and good elsewhere. Warning signals for south-easterly gale at East Cape.
