MAYOR'S GIFT.
TIMAHU, 9th January. The Mayor (Mr. J. Craigie, M.P.) has handed to the Borough Council the last section of the avenue of trees begun in 1905, planted by him, and fenced and maintained ftu> three years, along 56 chains of the two-chain West Belt. A hearty vote of thanks was passed last night for the handsome present to tho town.
