ONSLOW BOROUGH.
The Onslow Borough Council met lastnight. There were piesent : — The Mayor (Mr. F. Holdsworth), Councillors Gardner, Lynneberg, Darvall, Bates, Aplin, Dingwall, and Bowden. In regard, to the proposed drainage scheme fox 1 the borough the proposal to work in conjunction with the city f^f a combined scheme was discussed. The majority oi the council was against going to the expense of contributing £2200 towards the cost of .larger pipei> to serve KhailHallah and Onslow, as .suggested by the City Engineer. Eventually it was decided to approach the City Council again with a request for a Conference at an early date. A suggestion from the Johnsonvillp Town Board that the adjacent local bodies — the Onslow Borough Coun oil. the Makaru County Council, and the Town Board — should co-operate for the purpose of establishing a public cemetery for the district was referred to a committee consisting of Councillors Dingwall; Darvall. and Bates. It was decided to close the borough ofiigeß from 25th December to 6th January (inclusive).
