John -'Poarce, who since the recent breach of promise case, has been known as ';the man with the leaky heart," appeared in the role of bankrupt at a meeting of creditors. He stated that his liabilities Were £018 12s sd< and assets £20 4s 7d. As the result of an action for breach of promise of marriage brought by Mies Dina'n, tiie court had awarded £2tO damages, and costs £47 12s sd. This amount was still owing, and Miss.Dinan was his only creditor. He had offered'*to pay Miss Dinan £150 in settlement of the court's award, but she had declined to accept the amount. Bankrupt was closely questioned as to a certain deed of trust in which he held an_ interest with other members of hk family, and the Assignee agreed to the creditor's request to put in a claim for one-third' of th© trust property, so that the matter might be contested in the Supreme Court.
