WELLINGTON CENTRE MEETING.
At an adjourned meeting of the Wellington centre of the New Zealand Bowling Association, held 3n#t evening, Mr. W. J. Htteaton in the chair, tho proposed new pennant scheme (blue and white pennants) was the subject tor some discussion. Tho ohnirnmu Raid that the various clubs had, by ciwuiar been aeked to give their view* on the matter. The replfcw received showed that six clubs out of twelve were affaihsL the proposal, two favoured a change three took up a neutral attitude, and from one club a reply had not been received. Ihe reason a change had been suggested was, the chairman explained, that several club* had an idea that they would have no chance of winning the senior pennant this year under the existing system. On the motion of Mr. J. W. Kinniburgh, seconded by Mr. Bust, it was resolved that the proposed innovation be not dealt with this season. After the chairman had stated that the old system would have to toe adhered to during the 191M2 season, » suggestion wae~ adopted to the effect that the senior pennants competition be divided into two sections. A motion by Mr. Marquis, that the defimtioh of a "junior" should be a, player who has not played bowls longer than two seasons previous to the present one was lc*t, as woe a proposal that senior players ehould skip in junior pennant games. <■ Last season the champion of chanl' pions match -was a great success, and the centre therefore decided that thie season there should be a similar trial of strength between the champions. The date of the matoh was fixed for sth March. The question of a permanent trophy for this match being provided by the centre was raised by Mr. Marquis, but the other members did not fall in with the idea. .
