The Sydn»y Morning Herald, in an article on the Financial Statement of the New Zealand Premier, says .'—"Sir Joseph Ward* Budget oaee again tecftlls the astonishingly sound Aiad prosperous condition of aSaire in New Zealand. Not only is Ihe financial position of the country impregnable, but I it becomes stronger evci-y year. Sir Joseph Ward might well claim that hia ea*e is unique. s "lt> is interesting to note," adds the Herald, "that the eta of academic legislation sec-ms to hay» passed. The Administration of late b&s thrown itself more into the actual work of developing the assets of the State. A really grave feature is the disappearance of the Crown lands.
