Burgees, who swam across the English Channel last week, has refused offers from the music halls to give exhibitions of Channel swimming, including one of £500 a week. He is, however, willing to attempt to swim to France and rest there, and then to swim back to England, all within, fifty hours, if he is offered £10,000.
