The Eldorado "theatre at Nice, a portion of which collapsed burying forty workmen, was the largest in the town, The men were engaged on the construction of a. &ew annexe in rei&torced concrete. The ceilings and walls of the annete, which was- nearing completion, suddenly Collapsed, owing, it is believed, to hasty work, burying all below. There were heartrending scenes when the workmen's wives on bringing theif husbands' dinners found them dead.
The victims were mostly suffocated by dust, and were horribly crushed.
