" THE CHANCE OP A LIFETIME. 1 ' To-night the William Anderson Dramatic Company commences a farewell eeason of six nights at the Opera House, the piece being Nat Gould's sporting drama, " The Chance of a Lifetime. The drama is written round the race for the Ascot Gold Cup, and the theft of the trophy. The starting of the race per machine— a real starting machine is used— and the climbing of a flight of staira by the trained mare Trixie, con» tribute towards the realism of a pro . duction that has drawn big" h&oseJi in the South. The box plan is at the Dresden, ORGAN RECITAL. ! The organ recital given by the dity Organist, Mf. Maugham Barnett, on Saturday evening, was a most enjoyable one, and judging by the cordial applause, thoroughly appreciated by the large audience. One of the most attractive items on the programme was Wagner's beautiful "Spinning Chorus," from the well-known , opera "Tannhaueer," the ( charm and delicacy of which, wag artistically Interpreted by the organist, "L' Adieu' 1 (Schubert.) was another number which, met with warm appreciation i it was brilliantly played, and an encore was demanded. Mendelssohn's stately "War March of the Priest©" waa a delightful item, as was also Guilmant's dainty "Priere et Berceuse," Also included in the programme was the prelude and Fugue in C Minor," and "Andante Cantabile. Scherzo, and Finale" from .Widor's Organ Symphony No. 4. GARRISON BAND CONCERT. , Under Lieutenant Herd, the Garrison Band gave a concert at the Opera, House last evening in aid of the contest funds. The amount collected was £14 lls Sd. •The band, contributed the overture to "Zampa" (Herold), a paraphi-ase on "Nearer My God to Thee," grand selection, "Memories of Donizetti" (arranged by Rimnw), "The Pilgrim's Song of Hope" (Batiste), aaioflg other item*, all of -which were preatly appreciated. Mips. Free sang " Aye Maria " (Mascagni) with a violin obligate by Mr. A. Sfcenes, and "Vorrei" (Tosti), and Mr. W. Goudie gave "Galilee" (Adams), and "The Lord is Mjr Light" (Alliteea). The management announce, that it has secured West's great "Army and Navy Series" and will show them at The King's Theatre shortly. HIS MAJESTY'S. A series of pictures of topical interest Will be shown at His Majesty's Theatre this evening, namely, the lying in state of the body of the late Cardinal Moran at St. MaryV Cathedral, Sydney, and also the last public appearance of his Eminence at the layingof the f oundalionstone at Chatawood. The funeral procession will also be shown. Special facilities were granted to Mr. Charles Spencer for taking this picture, and the results are said to be exceedingly fine. THE NEWTHEATRE. The continuous picture show at The New Theatre attracted full houses all day on Saturday. A change of programme is announced for to-morrow. STAR PICTURES. Both exhibitions of the Star Pictures w*re well attended on Saturday. There | Will be a complete change of pictures this evening. j KILBIRNIE BEACH RINK. There are special attractions at each session at th© £i!birnie Beach Rink. On Saturday nkht an obstacle race was decided, the winner being Mr. 'Archer, I Sessions as usual to-day.
