CENTRAL MISSION BAND.
The Central Mission's Silver Band- held its ninth annual meeting on Thursday, the Rev. E. O. Blamirea (president) in the •cha-ir. The report of the secretary showed that the year ha<[ been a. very busy one, and had ended satisfactorily. All the silver-plated instruments had been paid off in twelve months from the date of purchase. The membership is still satisfactory, the number of musicians being thirty-six. The treasurer • reported that the baud would start its new year with a credit balance. The pf esident dwelt on the popular ity of tier band with the Wellington public, proof of which could be seen every Sunday flight at Ghussnee-etreet. He encouraged the bandsmen to strive evef to merit the esteem in which it waa held. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted, as follows-!— Bandmaster, Mr. S.
