YESTERDAY'S PROCEEDINGS. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. After The Post went to press yesterday ,the Legislative Council farther diecusaed Sir Maurice O'Rorke's motion suggesting the appointment of two emigration agents— -one in Scotland and one ill Ireland— and the giving of iort\ acres of fend to each emigrant over twenty-one years of age. Members who spoke praiaed tit ' i«ion of th© mover *f the motion, •it stated that the idea wae quite impracticable. The Hon. James M'Gowan pointed out that New Zealand v&lT€ady had an Emigration agent in London, who cottid do ail that was required. The motion eventually was lost on the voices.
