WAREHOUSE THEFTS.
MAN GIVES HIMSELF UP TO POLICE. In connection with tho recent theft? from the warehoiiefcs of M*«srs. W. and G. TurnbuK and C*. and A. S. Paterson and Co., a young man, named Charles Searle, formerly in Dusirwss as a grocer ik Pine-street, gave himself up to the police on Saturday. He appeared before Mr. W. G. Riddell. S.M., at the Ma,gistrate's Court to-day, and pleaded guilty to two charges of receiving; one case of van Houten's cocoa, valued at £7 10s, and one enddio of Derby tobacco valued at £5 15s from Allan Lee, well knowing the rame to have bean dishonestly obtained. On the application of ChiefDetective Broberg, Searle was remanded, for sentence until WetiTresttay, Mr A. Blair appeared for acensed, and asked for bail, which was allowed in the sum of £50.
