A coalition of Progressive Republican* and Democrats is contending in a. farreaching revision of the tariff. , It has declared that the Farmers' Free List Bill and the compromised Wool Bill, and probably a. Cotton Bill, will be passed, all lowering duties, "The main intention of the Farmers' Free List Bill is to recompense Agriculturalists for their probable loss under Canadian reciprocity. Mr. Taft is pledged to await the repoi't o! the Tariff Board before assenting to new legislation, consequently the President is likely v to be compelled to veto the above measures, which have been passed by ft Republican vote.
