to ran EDiTon. Sir,— Allow me to join in the protest against this abomination of a stable in the Botanical Gardens, Of course, Mr. Crkn's art can beautify anything. But why should the Council go out of its way to create ugliness for him to beautify'/ A suitable «ite for the stable, can be found cattail the gates of the gardens . Why persist in choosing a pite that is .eminently unsuitable? Jf the conncil i ne&My desires to improve this part of tJie gardens, lab it move the band rotunda, i which is very badly placed, The space round it is 60 cramped that only a. handful of people can assemble in tie vicinity. There is plenty of room higher 1 up, near the swings.--*! am, etc.. A. R. Meek.
