John Bowron, of the late firm of Bow* ron 8r03., leather merchants, of Bermondsey, examined in the Bankruptcy Court, paid that the failure of the firm was due to the loss of £100,000 owing to the rise in the price of raw materials in the autumn of 1907 The balance-sheet for 1900 showed a deficit of £60,000. By 1909 the deficiency had risen to £125,800. Bowron Bros., of New Zealand, forgave debts to the extent of £78,000 be« tween 1905 and 1907.
