(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, 21st April. Mr. P. W. Robertson (Wellington) the second Rhodes scholar from New Zealand, has just come back to London, having resigned his post as Professor of Chemistry >in University College, Rangoon., which is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The college has about 300 students, mostly Burmese and Chinese working for degrees to assist them in securing appointments under the Government. Mr. Robertson's largest class iv practice consisted of about 130. During his eighteen months in Burma, Mr. Robertson spent the vacations in most interesting visits to the Shan States, Mandalay, and other parts of the country. Ho is now looking out for another appointment, but does noo intend to return to th© East. The marriage of Miss Vera Dall (Wellington) to Mr. A. R. Andrew, M.Sc. (Dunedin) is to take place in the West Indies. Miss Dall is to sail from Southampton next week for Barbadors, where Mr. Andrew will be awaiting her. The wedding will take place there, and then, rejoining the steamer, they will continue the voyage to Colombia. It is expected they will come back to England in about three mouths' time. Mr. T. A. Johnston (Wellington) late of the Lands and Survey, Department, has left for Scotland, with the intention of entering upon his studies in civil engineering at one of the universities, ■ probably Glasgow. Lieut.-Colonel d'Arcy Ghaytor purposes taking 'v course of instruction at Longmoor Mounted Infantry School, also in cavalry work at Aldershot. The Morning Post announces the engagement of Miss Phyllis Higginson, daughter of the late Mr. H. P. Higginson, of Wellington, New Zealand, to Lieutenant Richard A. A. Plowden, R.N., second son of Mr. arid -Mrs. Charles Plowden, of Rome. Mr. William Short, Trumpeter of the King's Band, who has toured New Zealand and Australia, has been presented with his third warrant of appointment —a aomewhat unique circumstance. Mr. D. Jo«lin, who was for co many years connected with the Government Printing Office, and who was an active member of several athletic bodies in Wellington, has reached London, where he expects to reside for some years. He is staying at Hampstead for the pie- ' sent. ' Mrs. Kate Long (Wellington) had the misfortune to ehp during tho recent snowstorm, with the result that she fractured her leg. She has since been, in the Hampstead Hospital, where site is now making a good recovery. Mrs. Henry Blundell (Wellington) with her daughter and two sons left the^Oiaova at Plymouth and arrived in London on Good Friday. They will remain in London until after the Coronation, and then make a general tour of Ireland and Scotland. Later they expect to travel in Norway and Sweden, also on the Continent, and finally to spend a month •« Ceylon before returning again to New Zealand.
