Mr. Lewis IJarcourt, Secretary of State for the Colonies, replying in tho House of Commons to a question, said the British G-overnmont had 'requested tho Earl of Dudley, Governor-General of Australia, to obtain n report from the Federal Ministers regarding tho operation of tho recent referenda in' the Commonwealth. Mr. Harcourt did not answer tho ques. tion. VOTING IN NEW SOUTH WALES. v SYDNEY, This Day. Five electorates in New South Wales supported tho referenda, and twentytwo voted against it. Of the- latter, twelve return Labour members of Parliament.
