ANTI-MANCHU RIOTING IN CANTON. BRITISH BLUEJACKETS ON GUARD. AN UNSUCCESSFUL ATTACK. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received May 3, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 2nd May. Router's Pekin correspondent states that British marines are guarding Shameen, a small foreign residential quarter of Canton. Guns are posted at points along the canal. The rebels unsuccessfully attacked the police stationed between the city and the foreign settlement. The revolutionaries burned four yamens at Fatshan, nine miles west--bouth'-wesfc of Canton.
