COMMITTEE ENTERTAINED.
Mr. John. Fuller, jun., newly-elected to the City Council, entertained his combined committees at Godber's lasb evening. Mr. Harry W. Davies presided, and congratulated Mr. Fuller on Ins election, and wished him a long and .successful career in public life. Mr. Fuller, in replying to the toast of his health, proposed by Mr. Mark Cohen, of Dunedin, said he- was determined to tee the principles which lie had so strongly advocated during his campaign carried out to the utmost of his ability. During the evening, which was of a. very harmonioiuv character, Mr. Fuller sang "Geraldine" — a song which his father had made so popular in New Zealand during the old touring days. Mrs. Fuller sang "Sweet September," and with Mr. Fuller, "In the Dusk of tho Twilight." Mr. W. Douglas, of His Majesty's Theatre, was accompanist. The toast of the committees was proposed by Mr. Fuller and responded to »y Mrs. Rylands and Mn Thew. The toasb of Mr. H. Edwards, convener of Mr. Fuller's first meeting, .was alfio hoiiotued, a 3 was thab of the chairman.
